BeppoSAX
(Italian-Dutch space X-ray telescope)
BeppoSAX was an Italian/Dutch X-ray observing satellite launched 1996,
operating until 2002. It observed the entire X-ray range (into
extreme ultraviolet and gamma-ray ranges) and revealed the
coordinates of some gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).
Instruments:
A phoswich is a scintillator-arrangement used in some X-ray detectors,
the word phoswich formed from "phosphor sandwich".
