ESSENCE (for
Equation of State: Supernovae Trace Cosmic Expansion)
was a project to survey Type Ia supernovae and
draw conclusions about dark energy.
A search for supernovae was carried out on the Víctor M. Blanco Telescope,
with follow-up observations with spectrographs.
Observations were carried out 2002-2007.
