FIRE Simulations

(Feedback in Realistic Environments)
(high resolution simulation of galaxies)

The FIRE Simulations are a set of simulations of galaxies. They have sufficient resolution to include giant molecular clouds and stellar feedback processes such as radiation pressure, stellar winds, photoionization, and supernovae. They are designed to simulate the galaxies' star formation with more emphasis on the underlying physical processes. A follow-on with updated code is termed FIRE-2.
