M87 (for Messier 87, also Virgo A, NGC 4486, Virgo X-1, or UGC 7654) is the second brightest Galaxy in the northern Virgo Cluster, about 53 million light-years away. It is a featureless Elliptical Galaxy, but does have many orbiting Globular Clusters, and has a Relativistic Jet, which includes a feature of interest, a bright spot designated HST-1.
