(MIT General Circulation Model)
(well-known general circulation model)

MITgcm (MIT General Circulation Model) is a general circulation model developed by MIT, used for Earth atmosphere and ocean modeling. It uses the finite volume method (FVM), a method analogous to the finite difference method for solving differential equations.

SPARC/MITgcm is MITgcm incorporating the SPARC (Substellar and Planetary Atmospheric Radiation and Circulation) three dimensional model which includes a wavelength-aware radiative transfer model.
