The Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIR) is a German astrophysics research institute that is part of the Max Planck Society. It is located in Bonn, Germany, and was founded in 1972. It does research using Radio astronomy including Very-long-baseline Interferometry (VLBI), Infrared (IR), and millimetre. It operates a graduate program in cooperation with the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne.
