(1980s survey to find optical identifications for weak radio sources)

The 1 Jansky Empty Field Survey (1 Jy) was a 1980s survey to identify optical counterparts of 558 weak radio sources (of on the order 1 jansky) in the Molonglo Reference Catalog (MRC). Optical observations were carried out on the Swope and du Pont telescopes at Las Campanas Observatory (LCO). Discoveries included distant galaxies.
