Palomar Four-Filter Survey

(Hale telescope survey aimed at discovering high-redshift quasars)

I use the term Palomar Four-Filter Survey for an Astronomical Survey of about 1990 carried out with the Four-Shooter Spectrograph/camera on the Hale Telescope, aimed at discovering high-Redshift Quasars. Photographs were taken with four custom filters designed to catch redshifted the H-alpha Emission Line characteristic of the Variable Star P-Cygni (but expected to be visible in some quasars) and the designator "PC" might be taken from this.
