Ultraluminous X-Ray Source

(ULX)
(x-ray source with luminosity between a star and an AGN)

An Ultraluminous X-ray Source (ULX) is a source of X-rays that is not as luminous as an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) but is more luminous than any devised stellar process. It is not clear what they are. A theory is that they are intermediate-mass Black Holes (BH).
