The Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) is a twelve-meter microwave telescope at the Llano de Chajnantor Observatory in the Atacama Desert in Chile, with the goal of studying molecular clouds, e.g., observing their 0.2 mm carbon monoxide emission lines.
