(Advanced X-ray Imaging Satellite)
(concept for space X-ray observatory)

AXIS is a concept for a NASA X-ray survey satellite, aiming to image the celestial sphere on the order of 0.5 arcsecond angular resolution, covering 0.1-16 keV, and generally more sensitive than Chandra X-ray Observatory. The concept is for a mid-2020s launch.
