Barnard's Star (GJ 699) is a low-mass
red dwarf about 6 light-years away.
It is the 4th closest known star
after the three stars of
Alpha Centauri.
Characteristics:
An extra-solar planet candidate (GJ 699b) was announced in
2018 but a refutation has since been announced.
