HITEMP is a database of spectroscopic parameters representing the effect of molecular gases on the absorption and transmission of EMR at 1000 K temperatures and greater, which has uses in astrophysics such as the analysis of stars. It is analogous to HITRAN, which does the same for Earth atmospheric temperatures. HITEMP handles a just few compounds of wide interest (e.g., water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide): compounds have huge numbers of spectral lines, and a large set of these, worked out and available, is very helpful for stellar modeling. HITEMP is currently termed "HITEMP2010", but the site includes subsequent data on additional compounds; the site has long had an announcement of efforts to add more such data.
