Korea Microlensing Telescope Network

(KMTNet)
(survey searching for microlensing transients)

The Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) is an astronomical survey to discover extra-solar planets in the galactic bulge through gravitational microlensing transients. It uses a dedicated 1.6-meter telescope at each of three southern-hemisphere locations distributed such that the bulge can be monitored continuously (other than when the weather impedes):

Operation began in 2015 and as of 2023, on the order of eighty planets have been discovered.
