Parkes Catalog

(PKS)
(catalog of from 1960s-1990 of radio sources in southern hemisphere)

The Parkes Catalog (PKS) is an Astronomical Catalog from an Radio Astronomical Survey of the southern hemisphere by the Parkes Observatory. It was first published in 1969 based on a 408MHz survey, and later enhanced with observation data at 2650MHz, 1410MHz and other Frequencies.

Many Radio Galaxies (RG) were discovered and still are known by their "PKS" designation.
