Kepler-16b

(exoplanet orbiting a binary star)

Kepler-16b is a giant extra-solar planet orbiting a binary star, a circumbinary planet (i.e., in orbit around the pair). The stars, Kepler-16A and Kepler-16B are a K dwarf and an M dwarf, orbiting each other at about 0.2 AU with a period of about 41 days. Planet characteristics:
