The UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) is a Schmidt camera at Siding Spring Observatory, Australia, in operation since 1973, currently operated by the Australian Astronomical Observatory (AAO). Its field of view is 6° by 6°, intended for surveys, originally using photography. More recently, it has been the home of a multi-object spectrograph, 6dF, and as of 2017, of TAIPAN.
